From childhood onwards, we all search for our most comfortable identities, shape-shifting to the tunes of guides and fellow-travellers until we find who we want to be. This song is set at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, London, in the late 1970’s. Soapbox orators addressed their speeches to the passing crowd. Cameos presenting various characters paint a cultural picture of the time. It is perhaps still relevant today.
