Juxtapositioning the romantic view of the gypsy life with a less attractive perception, which can be viewed literally or metaphorically. When I was a boy, I was fascinated by a series of Romany books in our tiny local library, which happened to be near Corke’s Meadow, said to be the largest gypsy camp in Europe.
